City of Lynchburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court House

New Construction

Project Details

In Association with Hughes Associates Architects

This project involved construction of a new 46,345 SF Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court House for the City of Lynchburg. This facility has an extensive green roof and is the very first LEED certified project in the area, making it the flagship for many to come. By the project’s end, it had surpassed the expected Silver rating to achieve LEED Gold. The project was bound by other structures and streets on all sides, rendering it virtually inaccessible by three of them; the building had to practically be constructed from the southern elevation. The building houses two courtrooms, mediation and hearing rooms, and multiple attorney conference spaces.
