This project consisted of 2,310 SF of new construction and 340 SF of renovation to the existing Lynchburg General Hospital Emergency Department to provide additional psychiatric preferred treatment spaces for the E.D. The unit is an emPATH Unit ("emPATH" stands for Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment and Healing). The unit is for outpatient treatment of medically appropriate E.D. patients in psychiatric crisis.
