UVA Physics Building Renovation Achieves LEED Silver Certification

Jamerson-Lewis Construction is excited to share that the University of Virginia Physics Building Renovation has officially been awarded LEED Silver Certification (v4/v4.1) by the U.S. Green Building Council.

This is a major milestone for the project and a reflection of the strong collaboration across the entire team. From early planning through final construction, everyone involved remained focused on delivering a high-quality, sustainable facility that will serve students, faculty, and researchers for years to come.

The renovation prioritized improved building performance through energy-efficient systems, responsible material selection, and enhanced indoor environmental quality. The team also implemented sustainable construction practices such as waste reduction and efficient resource management to meet the rigorous standards required for LEED certification.

Achieving LEED Silver is no small feat, and this accomplishment speaks to the dedication, coordination, and attention to detail that went into every phase of the project.

At Jamerson-Lewis, we’re proud to build projects that make a lasting impact in our communities—and this one is no exception.

We’re especially grateful for our project team, partners, and trade partners whose collaboration, expertise, and commitment made this achievement possible. It truly took a collective effort to bring this vision to life.

We also appreciate the opportunity to partner with the University of Virginia and the full project team on this effort, and we thank everyone involved for their hard work in bringing it across the finish line.
