Reaching new heights — literally.

A Topping Off Ceremony held on site marked a major milestone in the construction of the new Botetourt County Circuit Courthouse, as the building's cupola was lifted and set into place. The placement signifies that the structure has reached its highest point, a traditional moment in construction that recognizes the progress of the entire project team.

It was a proud moment to celebrate the hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication of everyone helping bring this landmark project to life.

Honoring the Past, Building for the Future

The new Botetourt County Circuit Courthouse will preserve the familiar look of the original while providing the modern features needed to better serve the community.

The design retains the iconic red brick façade, white-columned portico, green standing-seam metal roof, and signature clock spire that residents know well. Inside, the building adds significantly more space, enhanced security features, modern amenities, and a fully ADA-compliant courtroom — improvements that will allow the county to serve the public more safely and efficiently for decades to come.
