About Us

The merger of J.E. Jamerson & Sons and C.L. Lewis and Company, Inc. bring together two companies with over 150 years of combined construction experience and building excellence. Our new partnership solidifies and enhances our reputation as leaders in our industry. Our focus will continue to be our customers.

Our prior companies have been responsible for constructing some of central Virginia’s most prominent landmarks. With a shared commitment for growth and vision, our new firm, Jamerson-Lewis Construction, will build upon this foundation to help create and construct your future monuments.

We will build upon all the reasons you selected our firms in the past – knowledge, honesty, commitment to project goals – all the ingredients required to be the best construction TEAM members for your project.

Today, with a shared commitment for growth and a vision for the future, our combined talent positions us to encompass every major category of commercial construction. Let us bring our years of experience to your next project.

These services include pre-construction, planning, design – build, sustainable construction, historic renovations, construction management, all combined with the latest technology and our commitment to build and enhance our relationship throughout the process. Our goal is to provide visionary clients with affirmation as they dream, insight as they plan, and satisfaction as we build.

Jamerson-Lewis Construction will operate under the leadership of Preston Craighill and Phillip Jamerson.

OUR LEGACY

CL Lewis & Company, Inc.

In 1929, work was scarce, standards were high, and success would only come to firms with exceptional integrity and merit. These qualities were parallel with the reputation of Charles Langhorne Lewis. He forged his personality into his work; and before long, his reputation was as solid as his company. By the mid 1950’s, C.L. Lewis and Company, Inc. was one of the leading contractors in central Virginia. Over the decades the company continued to grow and evolve, all the while maintaining their foundational qualities.

J.E. Jamerson & Sons

With experience in millwork and lumber, Mr. James E. “Dutch” Jamerson founded J.E. Jamerson & Sons in 1946 as a building supply company.  His basic business principles were fairness and quality. As years passed and building projects expanded, there became a growing demand for the company to offer a wider span of services. J.E. Jamerson and Sons quickly evolved into a construction company and their tradition of excellence was born.
